Rosalie R. Abraham 1930 - 2014 New Britain, CT

Rosalie Rita (Vasellina) Abraham, 83, of New Britain passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2014 at the Hospital of Central CT.

Born in New Britain on February 14, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Amelia (Naples) Perretta Vasellina and Albert Vasellina and was a lifelong resident of New Britain. After graduating New Britain High School in 1949, a few places Rosalie worked locally were Anthony Rao, Fafnir Bearing Co, The Stanley Works, and The Weathervane. Rosalie was a lifelong member of St Joseph's Church, the Rosary Guild and 21 Club.

Surviving are her four children, Robyn A. Kane of Madison Alabama, retired Command Sergeant Major Edward A. Abraham and wife Wendy of Agawam, MA, Cheryl M. Abraham of Woodbury, and Michelle Abraham of Plantsville; her brother John Vasellina Sr. and his wife Betty; six grandchildren, 1st Lieutenant Michelle Kane, Abraham Kane, Nicholas Abraham, Alyssa Abraham, Samantha Abraham, and Serena Abraham; and eighteen nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward I. Abraham June 2013, her siblings Arthur Perretta, Venture Perretta, and Anthony Perretta. Rosalie was dedicated to her family and they surrounded her up until the time she left us.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South. Main St., New Britain CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, New Britain CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
