Mrs. Ernestine Mae Wcisel, 76 of Gaylord died at her home on Friday, May 13, 2005. Mrs. Wcisel was born in Alpena on September 6, 1928 to Ernest & Ida Mae (Mortimer) Himes. She was raised in Alpena and on November 3, 1945 she married her husband Edwin there. The Wcisel’s made Gaylord their home in 1960. For several years they enjoyed wintering in Florida. Mrs. Wcisel worked at the State Home in Gaylord until 1972, when she and her husband established Wcisel Construction. She remained involved in the family business as secretary and treasurer even during her illness. She cherished her family and adored being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Wcisel is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edwin; five sons, Edwin Jr. (Jane), Jerry (Marilyn), Ernie (Jackie), Ronnie (Jeannette) and Randy all of Gaylord; 17 grandchildren, Kevin, Tracy, Heidi, Ryan, Amy, Todd, Kim, Todd, Sarah, Christine, Jim, Katie, Meghan, Steve, Mike, Dave and Eric; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte (Clarence) Eagle of Alpena; sister-in-law, Maryann (Chuck) McKay of Alpena; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley and Ernie, her sisters, Helen, Marjorie and Margaret, and her sister-in-law, Kathleen. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 2 PM from the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord, Reverend John Naile, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gaylord. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 PM and again on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of services.
