Richard H. "Bud" Williams, 74, of Allison, Iowa, passed away October 6, 2005, at the Hampton Health Care Center in Hampton, where he had been a resident since May, 2005. He was born June 10, 1931, in Butler County, to Richard T. and Flora (Leerhoff) Williams. Bud graduated from the Allison High School in 1949. He married Betty Brinkman on September 21, 1954, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Bud lived and farmed south of Allison all of his life until he and Betty moved to Allison in 2003. Bud accepted Christ as his Savior through John 3:16 at the age of 8. He was in fellowship at the Hitesville Gospel Hall in rural Aplington, Iowa. He enjoyed music and farming. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bud is survived by his wife Betty Williams of Allison, daughter Connie & husband Bob Opperman of Allison, son Jeff & wife Rhonda Williams of Allison; brother Don Williams and wife Karen of Delhi; four grandchildren: Tony & Tyler Opperman, Mitchell & Stephanie Williams; brother-in-law Edwin Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Stanek, brother-in-law Larry Stanek and sister-in-law Paulene Meyer. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2005 at the Hitesville Gospel Hall, rural Aplington with Robert Orr & Russell Nesbit officiating. The hymns were "Amazing Grace", "A Glorious Morrow" and "How Great Thou Art." The ushers were Kenneth Tack and Earl DeVries. Pallbearers were Larry Asche, Dallas Kluiter, Wes Swieter, LaVern Kluiter, Larry Brandt and Tom Christopherson. Final resting place was in the Allison Cemetery with Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
