Grace Evelyn Murphy, 75, of Indian Land, SC, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
Mrs. Murphy was born on October 15, 1938 in Yancey County, NC, daughter to the late James Lewis Bartlett and Retha Kate Gurley Bartlett. Two sisters and one brother also preceded her in passing. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her best friend and husband of 59 years, Clarence L. Murphy; daughters Sonya Rickard and Sharon Gillis; three grandchildren; two brothers, two sisters and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews. Interment followed the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
