Mrs. Conley was born on February 14, 1926 in Red Rock, Texas and left this world on May 24, 2006 in Conroe, Texas to go meet her Lord Jesus Christ and to join her husband DeWitte Conley, son Stephen DeWitte Conley and son James Douglas Conley in heaven.

Joyce was considered by many to be a cup bearer for the Lord. She rejoiced in giving to others and ministering to them her love and devotion to the Lord. As a cup bearer, she would make handkerchiefs, small baby pillows, and dozens of chocolate chip cookies. She also spent time as a volunteer at Conroe Regional Medical Center helping to comfort the sick. One of her favorite pastimes was to mentor to 1st graders at Sam Houston Elementary school helping the children learn to read.

Joyce had an active career in banking from age 17 to retirement at age 79. She also was an active member of the Ark Family church and loved fellowship with her friends of the Ark. Joyce loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Joyce and her husband DeWitte are survived by their three daughters, Linda Joyce Taylor and husband Joe, Gloria Lynn Waterhouse and husband Ken, Lisa Marie Hutchins and husband Kelly. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Cary DeWitte Erickson, Taylor Allen Ihlefeld, Dallas Marie Pendergrass, Stephanie Joy Hutchins, Dusty Taylor, and Steven Ryan Hutchins; and one great grandchild, Jensen Taylor Ihlefeld. Joyce liked to dance and her greatest wish was to dance with Jesus in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Gomez and the staff of Odyssey House and Odyssey out patient for the loving care of our mother.
