Christina Amelia Birrell, daughter of James Birrell and Emma Hockings, was born in Claremont, Ontario. Christina married Matthew Gordon at Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1908, and they had two daughters, one who died in infancy, and Jean. Christina was a member of the Women's Missionary Society, and was secretary of Grace church Ladies' Aid. Christina died on January 12, 1936 from injuries received when she was struck by an automobile, while walking with her friend.
Christina's mother, Emma Burrill, died at Calgary on May 27, 1923. Emma's remains were shipped to Toronto.
