Isaac was the son of Sion S. Murphy (III), and Delilia Susannah (Susan) White, she the daughter of Robert White Sr. 1743-1843, and Mildred "Milly" [Whitehead] White abt1763-1807), also of Union Co SC.
Isaac is remembered in the White family of Union Co SC, for the "famous 1871-1886 Isaac Murphy Letters" he wrote on the complete, immediate, White family, of his mother Susan. He also detailed his Murphy Family. Without these letters, our White researchers today, would be at the mercy of here-say... We could have never advanced our genealogy, to the point we are today, I am sure the same goes for the Murphy family.
Isaac was a devote Baptist. He was the 'Big Brother', that his siblings turned to for advise and comfort. Their is no doubt, in the mind of this writer that such a character, as Isaac, was missed, by all who knew him, family and friends.
The White side of his family has bestowed the honor of "1st Family Researcher", he wrote many letters, and in those letters, we discovered, where some of the White's and Murphy's had migrated to, from Union Co SC, and from his notes, verified some of our current research findings.
He also kept a Family Bible Record recording birth and deaths and some marriages of his family. A descendant still maintains the bible today, lives in SC. This Bible is also recorded in SC Bible Records, edited by Dorothy Harris Phifer, Pnckney District Chapter, SC Genealogical Society, who has published the record.
A couple of the letters, Isaac wrote are published in the Union County SC Heritage Book.
