GEORGE W. DUNCAN died July 17, 1909. Born Sept. 8, 1818 in Buckingham county, VA, and lived there until about 22 years of age, when his father died, and he, with mother and sister, moved to Stone Coal, WV. There he married Mary Jane Warner in 1866. Four girls and one boy, Alice A., Geo. W., Susan J., Prudia A. and Bertha, all of whom preceded him to that better world, excepting his aged wife, Geo. W. of Clarksburg and Mrs. Sanford Stalnaker, with whom he lived. Leaves wife, son and daughter, one brother, William Duncan of Roanoke Funeral on July 19 in Laurel Lick Church.

The couple were married in 1862 according to their Lewis County, WV Marriage record and not 1866 as indicated in his obit.
