James Lee "Jimmy" (aka "Fogie)" Foglesong, 82, died of natural causes Thursday, January 9, 2014, at St. Ann Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK.

Jimmy was born to Kenneth and Alice Foglesong on October 3, 1931, in Quinlan, OK. Jimmy attended high school in Anadarko and was a member of the class of 1949 (The 49ers).

He attended The University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1953 with a degree in information design with extra hours in journalism and advertising. He received a BBA degree in marketing with minors in management and advertising from the University of Texas in 1957. He went on to earn an MBA degree in marketing with a management minor in 1965 at Southern Methodist University.

He was a loyal and fervent Oklahoma Sooner fan and loved Sooner football and his Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

In 1953-55, Jimmy was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed in Fort Belvoir, VA and Heidelberg, Germany.

He worked for the A.C. Nielsen Marketing Research Co. in New York City 1957-59 and then was an account executive for John Guffey Advertising Agency in Odessa, TX 1959-60. He worked as Asst. Manager of Advertising and Public Relations for Dallas Power & Light Co. 1960-65 and then as Associate Director of Advertising and Promotion for Mead Johnson & Co. in Evansville, IN. He was also Director of Advertising and Public Relations for Barnes-Hind Pharmaceuticals in Sunnyvale, CA.

Jimmy was a member of Toastmasters International, Alpha Delta Sigma, Delta Phi Delta and Alpha Tau Omega.

His interests included languages, public speaking, teaching, tennis, travel, writing, painting and the breeding, training and showing of quarter horses and beagles.

Though Jimmy never married, he had many girlfriends, who all adored him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alice (Budgie); and brothers, Valdie Kenneth, Gene and Ralph. He is survived by three nieces, two nephews, and many cousins.

Family and friends that knew Jimmy will remember him as a man that never spoke ill of anyone. He always looked on the bright side of life.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Ann Nursing Home for their exceptional care of Jimmy in his last years. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to Reese and Judy Wilmoth for their tireless support and care of Jimmy.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the St. Ann Nursing Home Chapel, 9400 St. Ann Drive, Oklahoma City, OK.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 17 at 2 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX.
