Mr. Adams, 63, of Alexandria, passed from this life Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at his residence.
As a young child Mike lived in different parts of Louisiana with his parensts, as his father was a First United Methodist Minister. Mike would often talk about his Sunday's of sitting on the first pew and listening as his father, Reverend James L. Adams preached the Sunday Service and his mother, Erma T. Adams served as Music Director in communities such as lota/Mazie, Crowley, Luling/St. Johns, Maplewood/Hackberry, Summergrove, Jonesboro, Tallulah, LaPlace, Jena and Bossier City.
Mike traveled the world as a foreign exchange student as high school student and a college student to Switzerland and Russia. Mike fluently spoke Russian, French, Spanish and Taiwanese. Mike also had a passion for music which was evident to anyone who had the honor to hear him perform. He was an avid pianist. He earned his Bachelor of Education from Louisiana State University.
Later in life, Mike became a real estate agent in the Alexandria/Pineville area. He worked alongside his mother and father in a successful real estate career. He later became a broker for Century 21 Erma Adams Real Estate. The last part of his life was dedicated to caring for his mother and father. He was a devoted son to bother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Erma Thornton Adams and his brothers, James David Adams and Mark Steven Adams and his four-legged companion, Jean-Jacques.
Those left to cherish his memory include his aunts, Glennie Sue Thornton and Violet Thornton and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
