Fede Q. (Genga) Presutto, 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center with family by her side.
Fede was born in Springfield on November 19, 1921 to Cesare and Rose (Morganti) Genga. She worked at Westinghouse for many years and loved spending her free time golfing. In 1959, Fede married the love of her life and moved to Derby, CT. After her husband, Joseph, passed away in 1972, Fede moved back to Springfield where she took a job as a Clerk at the Registry of Motor Vehicles until she retired. Most mornings would find her swimming at the Jewish Community Center. She enjoyed spending time reading and going out to eat.
Fede was predeceased by her brothers Libero, Secondo and Charles, and sisters Ida Genga, Alba Genga, Edea Bonazelli and Ida Sanchioni.
She leaves her step-daughters Elizabeth Ryan and Virginia Granger, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Fede's family would like to thank the staff at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Home for the kindness and care given to her during her time there.
The funeral for Fede will be held Thursday morning at 10 from Tazzini Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass in Mt. Carmel Church at 11. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral Thursday from 9-10.
