Age 83 years of Bay City Michigan, passed away January 11,2014 in Saginaw. The son of the late David and Elizabeth (Repphum) Scharich. Herman was born March 2, 1930 In Lapeer, Michigan. He married Dorothy Rueger on November 5, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church Amelith. He was employed by General Motors in Saginaw for 40 years prior to his retirement.
Herman was a member of St. John Lutheran Church Amelith. He enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, hunting, fishing and playing his guitar. He was also very mechanical and enjoyed fixing and repairing things for other people.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; six sons, Kenneth (Pat) Scharich, Tim Scharich, Lane Scharich, Wayne Scharich, Gary (Pam) Scharich and Tom Scharich; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and 3 sisters. Betty Genesco, Lucille (Ted) Hair and Shirley Walter.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Dale Scharich and Dennis Scharich; and a grandson, Steven Scharich.
Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church Amelith with Pastor Stephen P. Starke officiating. Interment at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St John Lutheran Church Amelith Memorial fund.
