George Washington Beasley was his full name, son of William Carrol Beasley and Margaret A. Kendrick.

He married twice in his lifetime, 1st to Leona Viola Philyaw on 16 April 1887 in Miller County, Arkansas. They together had 4 children, Arthur Garfield, Vivian E., Sallie Edna and Johnnie E. Beasley.

2nd to Josephine Higgins Shipp on 12 December 1901 in Miller County, Arkansas. They together had 7 children, Jasper, Riley "Roy" L., Madean, Joel Allison, Noel Anderson, Zuella, and Artimesa "Ardie" M. Beasley.
