Elzie Pauline Meadows, age 70, of Edgewood, MD passed away on January 10, 2014 at her son's house. Born in Comanche, OK, she was the daughter of the late Bud Roberson and Pauline Ada Trest Davis and wife of the late Meshack Meadows Jr. A Harford County resident since 1961, she had worked at Bata Shoe Company for 17 years, later worked at the original Wawa in the area at the corner of Route 24 and Route 7, and finally worked at the Rite Aid Distribution Center in Perryman. She was a lifelong member of Edgewood Assembly of God, where she was very active and was a founding member of the Missionettes, taught Sunday school and was an Honors Sponsor, later in life completing the program herself. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, known by her family as a prankster, loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed going to duck ponds, traveling and amusement parks.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by her son and wife, brothers, sister, grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Roberson Meshack Meadows Sr. and sister, Willie Alice Woosley.
Visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A., Abingdon, MD on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and at Edgewood Assembly of God, Edgewood, MD on Thursday from 10-11 am. Services will follow at the church on Thursday at 11 am. Interment will be at Cokesbury United Methodist Cemetery, Abingdon, MD. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Ronald and Roberson Meadows, Jeff Wainwright, Robert Soto, James Thacker, Tom Godfrey Jr. and Tony Shunk.
