Blessed are the pure of heart for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8. On September 27, 2012 Dennis L . Aucoin, a native of Pierre Part and resident of Bayou Pigeon peacefully passed away at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born on August 22, 1925. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Wilbert Services. He loved fishing and had a passion for duck hunting. He was a member of the Pierre Part Hunting Club and American Legion. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Sunday, September 30th from 5pm to 9pm and again on Monday, October 1st from 8am until 10:30am, Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine at 11am celebrated by Rev. Joey Angeles. He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Pearl Blanchard Aucoin, two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Sandra Albarado Aucoin , Dennis L. Aucoin, Jr. and Carolyn Roucher Aucoin, two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ann Aucoin Mabile and Alice Aucoin Vaughn and Cecil. Survived by his eight grandchildren Tammy Aucoin Blanchard, Karen Aucoin Blanchard and spouse, Jamie, Scott Mabile and spouse Mitzi Breckwoldt Mabile, Dawn Mabile Daigle and spouse Scott, Becky Smith and spouse Ash, Michael Vaughn and spouse Tanna Ebeling Vaughn, and Matthew and Jacob Aucoin. Thirteen great grandchildren Courtney, Kenley, Carly, Karysn Kamryn, Kathryn, Tyler, Ambrielle, Adelynn, Hannah, Luke, Madison, and Mackenzie. Survived by one sister, Elma Gaudet and three sisters-in law and two brothers-in-law, Mae Berthelot, Gloria (Sweet) and Murphy Blanchard, Florence Blanchard and Percy Blanchard, numerous nieces and nephews. He was also survived by two dear friends whom he considered brothers, Mr. Johnny Wilbert and Mr. Russell Hymel. Pallbearers will be Dennis L. Aucoin, Jr., Cecil Vaughn, Roland and Andrew Blanchard, Scott Mabile, Michael Vaughn, and Matthew and Jacob Aucoin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Smith and Luke Mabile. Preceded in death by parents, Jules and Angelle Berthelot Aucoin, brothers Walter and Eddie Aucoin, sisters, Louise, Lena, Judith and Maude Blanchard and Lucy Hedges. He enjoyed his family and friends. He was a good man, kind and generous to all. During his career, he had the privilege of meeting many wonderful people who he considered friends. He was one of the parishioners who was instrumental in organizing the annual St. Joan of Arc Church Fair.
