She was born in Berea, WV, on December 20, 1909, a daughter of the late Elva Maxson and Minnie Jones Maxson.
Her husband, Chester Howell, preceded her in death on December 24, 1981. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by eleven siblings.
Mrs. Howell is survived by one son, Marshall Howell and his wife Janice; two grandchildren, Russell Howell and Tracy Crank and her husband, Keith and four great-grandchildren, Whitney, Brandon, Morgan and Cody.
She was a member of the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
Family and friends will be received at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, from 2 - 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 3 p.m., with Reverend Don Maxson presiding. A private interment will be at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
