Ray Edward Neese, 91, of Mill Hall, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Williamsport Hospital.

He was born in Spring Mills on March 28, 1921, a son of the late John Emanuel and Kathryn Emery Neese.

He married Dorothy Elaine Rauch on Oct. 24, 1947, who survives at home. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on the 24th of this month. They were married in the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Northville, NY. The Reverend Newton F Reick, brother-in-law of the bride, officiated. The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Assea Bills of Northville.

His first wife, Carrie Powers, preceded him in death in 1944.

Ray was the owner and operator of Neese Tires in Mill Hall for 23 years. He was a member of the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church. He was involved in the Bald Eagle Ridge Runners.

Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He loved hunting and camping, and enjoyed feeding the deer and birds and taking photographs with his game camera.

Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Sonny; his son Carl and wife Sherie Neese; and his daughter-in-law, Dorothy R. Neese.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
