Mrs. Atwell was born February 22, 1857 in Union Township, Carroll County, the daughter of the late John C. and Mary Elizabeth (Brown) Gantz. She was married to James Atwell of Union Township, and lived in and about Carrollton until the past few years, during which she has been confined to the rest home in Dover. She was a member of the Carrollton Methodist Church. Her husband preceded her in death i 1926.
She is survived by two nephews, Jason Hawk of Carrollton and Brown Davis of Alliance. There are many distant relatives. Funeral services were held from the Arbaugh Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Dr. B. Lomas. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery.
