Mrs. Charles Atwell died Monday in her home on West Main Street, and was buried Wednesday. Services were held in the Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. J. B. Manley officiating, and interment was made in Grandview cemetery. Her maiden name was Mary Emma Irwin, and she was born September 17, 1864, in Union Twp. She was first married to William Gantz in 1882, and was married in 1906 to Ed. Barnhouse, who died a year later. In 1907 she was married to Charles Atwell, who survives along with her three sons: Harry Gantz, James T. Barnhouse and Charles Atwell, Jr. A surviving brother is John Irwin, of Minerva, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Hall, of New Brighton, Pa. she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, having united in early life.
