Michael Thomas MAGNANO

Michael was born on July 19, 1976. He died peacefully in his sleep on December 18, 2013, at the age of 37.

He is survived by his parents, Marco and Sheila Magnano, his brother Marco III and wife Molly and their three children, Mary Jo and twins Maggie and Marco IV, his brother Matthew and daughter Cheri and his close friend Leila Minbashian. To all of his nieces and nephews he was known as "Uncle Michael" or "Uncle Mickey".

Michael attended Our Lady of Fatima grade school, Seattle Preparatory School, and graduated from Seattle University. While in college Michael worked at Prudential Securities. After graduation from Seattle University, Michael worked in sales in the tech industry. At the time of his death he was developing mobile "apps" involving Seattle sports teams. Michael was a loyal fan of the Mariners, Sonics and Seahawks. He was a consummate sports authority who wrote letters to Seattle newspaper editors on many subjects. One of his very first business ventures was as a Seattle Times paper boy in his neighborhood. This was followed by the purchase of 500 Ken Griffey, Jr. rookie cards in 1989 using his father's credit card. He repaid the debt with profits from subsequent sales of the cards.

Michael was a light to all who knew him. He had a generous heart and an engaging personality. The tremendous outpouring of the thoughts and prayers from his many friends has been a great source of comfort to his family. Michael loved music and is now enjoying the company of Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, and Frank Sinatra in heaven.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 3218 West Barrett, Seattle, WA 98199 in Magnolia, on Monday, January 6, 2013 at 10:00 am. The Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Magnano. A private family interment will be held later.

Charitable contributions in Michael's memory may be made to: Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, or Seattle Preparatory School, 2400 Eleventh Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98102-4098, or Christ Our Hope Catholic Church, 1902 Second Avenue, Seattle WA 98101.
