James M. Childers was born June 1, 1873 in Jackson County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Childers. One sister survived him -- Mrs. Myrtle Stickney of Springfield.
His surviving children included Gordon of Brookley, MI, Lloyd Childers of Taylor, IM, Mrs. Frank Foss of Fairhaven, MI and Mrs. Julius Griffin of Florida.
Mr. Childers was a retired Illinois Central Railroad employee. Formerly of Carbondale, he resided at Sir Haven (Fairhaven?), MI.
Mr. Childers died at the age of 93 on Wednesday, May 17, 1967. His graveside service was officiated by Rev. Eric De Brier, asst. minister of the Presbyterian Church in Carbondale. Van Natta Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
