DeLoss C. Dangler, Jr., age 60, of rural Edgerton, Ohio, passed away quietly on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at his residence, leaving his wife, children, grandchildren, mother, brother and sisters, along with many friends, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and his dog, Max, to mourn him. A 1972 graduate of Edgerton High School and Four County Joint Vocational School, DeLoss was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton. He was a classic car fanatic and loved to be very active outdoors.

Born on June 7, 1953, in Garrett, Indiana, the son of DeLoss C. Dangler, Sr. and Dolores (Thiel) Dangler, DeLoss loved his family, and his employment with St. Mary Catholic School and St. Mary Catholic Church, while working part-time with the Village of Edgerton and Edgerton Local School. His good nature, quick wit and enthusiasm for life were a beacon to the many people in his life. He has left behind his wife, Sandra Lee (Taylor) Dangler, whom he married on September 12, 1987, and his grandson, Tyson Lee Reliford, whom he lovingly took in to raise and cherish. DeLoss dearly loved the children of St. Mary School.

DeLoss has also left behind two daughters, Kimberly Dangler, of Antwerp, Ohio, and Cory (Jared) Timbrook, of Bryan, Ohio; one son, DeLoss Stephen Dangler, also of Bryan; five grandchildren, Tyson Reliford, of Edgerton, Kelsey Rouix, of Hicksville, Ohio, and Jordyn, Chase and Nevaeh Timbrook, all of Bryan; and one great-granddaughter, Aerilee Reliford, of Defiance, Ohio; his mother, Dolores Dangler, of Edgerton; five sisters, Darlene (Rick) Kimpel, of Hicksville, Dawn (Bob) Brown, of Bryan, DeAnn (Jim) Hornaday, of Clearwater, Florida, Deborah (Mitch) Blotkamp and Denise (Bob) Knecht, both of Edgerton; one brother, Douglas (Becky) Dangler, also of Edgerton; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding him in death were his father, DeLoss C. Dangler, Sr.; his in-laws, Harold and Gayle Taylor; and his grandparents, Lionel and Mabel Thiel and DeLoss B. and Nina "Josephine" Dangler.

Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton on Saturday, January 18, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and on Sunday, January 19, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 P.M., with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend David Cirata officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to St. Mary Catholic School or to the family.
