Mrs. Melissa J. Young, wife of Baltzer A. Young, died a short time before midnight Tuesday night (May 30, 1911) after a lingering illness due to a complication of diseases. For eleven weeks she had been confined to her bed, and for several weeks past her condition has been so serious that the end was looked for at any time.

Mrs. Young was one of the best known and most highly respected women of Rogers. She was a daughter of the late Andrew Armstrong and wife of Elkrun township where she was born 63 years ago on the Armstrong farm in Elkrun township, and her entire life until her marriage with B. A. Young. Some time after their marriage they moved to Rogers where they have since made their home. Deceased is survived by her husband and three daughters. Mrs. Anna Longshore, at home, Mrs. Harry Farmer and Mrs. Homer Henry, Elkrun township; also one sister and five brothers, Mrs. S. D. Longshore, P.M. Armstrong and George W. Armstrong, Lisbon, C. B and Frank Armstrong, Elkrun township, and H. A. Armstrong, Haleton, North Dakota.

Deceased has for many years been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. The funeral services will take place at Kembie's church in Elkrun Township on Friday at 11 o'clock, sun tie, and interment will be made in the cemetery there.
