RUPERT — Frank Gene Driesel, 77, of Rupert and formerly of Wendell, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 4, 1936, to Earl and Margaret Driesel Frank enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing; his favorite fishing spot was at Slate Creek. Frank lived most of his life in Wendell, Idaho. He served in the Navy from 1954-1958. Frank worked various jobs throughout his life, ending at the Wendell elevator where he retired. He then moved to Toledo, Ore., to be with his son after the passing of his dear friend, Shorty Bay. He got three years of quality time with Ted before his son passed away. He then returned to Idaho, living in Rupert to be closer to his daughters.
Survivors are his daughters, Sandra (Keith) Rasmussen of Burley, Lynn (Bob) Braden of Rupert and Lerena Wallman of Bliss; and two brothers, Larry Driesel of Gooding and Danny (Peggy) Driesel of Gooding. He had 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his sister, one brother and his son.
There will be a memorial for family and friends at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Braden's residence, 249 N. Highway 24 in Rupert in the back shop.
