Mrs. Hilbert (Ellen) Koerth Radloff, 82, of Brillion passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at home from cancer.
She was born Aug. 14, 1915 in the town of Rockland, Brown County, daughter of the late Henry and Lora (Greve) Koerth.
She married Hilbert Radloff on Sept. 10, 1938 at Brillion. Ellen had a diversified life. Prior to marriage, she was a practical home nurse. She assisted Hilbert in operating the family farm in the town of Brillion. She also worked as a nurse at Calumet Medical Center and Calumet Homestead. Ellen was also employed for many years at the Ariens Company. Ellen is the former city clerk treasurer for the City of Brillion.
During her life, she enjoyed many activities and was a member of the Brillion Women’s Club. Brillion Home makers, Brillion Historical Society, Calumet Auxiliary, Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aide, and the Brillion Flying Club. Ellen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, the Brillion Senior Citizens and the Women’s Cribbage Club.
Ellen is survived by her children, Grace and James Broehm of Phoenix, Ariz., Judith Schaefer of Sheboygan, Robert and Margaret Radloff of Fort Worth, Texas, Marie And Randall Habermann of Chilton and Alan and Kathy Radloff of Brillion.
She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Meta Krahn of Brillion, Aurella and David Swanson of Richmond, Calif., Orlo and Faith Koerth of Mesa, Ariz., and Lloyd and Janet Kalies of Brillion. She had 23 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Alvina and Clarence Koerth, her daughter Elaine and Gerard Rassmussen, her son-in-law, John Schaefer and a grandchild, Steven Broehm.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion with Rev. Ross Henzie as officiant.
