John David Milliorn was born on Feb. 26, 1895 in Texas (various sources have Bell County, Burnet County, Llano County or Clyde, Callahan County, Texas). He married Alma Marie (last name unknown) before 1924. John worked as a Carpenter in Dallas, Texas from at least 1924 until 1930.

Some time between 1930 and before 1935, the couple moved to Chipley, Washington County, Florida. However before 1940, John was a Patient in the Veterans Administration Facility in Central, Grant County, New Mexico.

Some time between 1941 and the date of John's death, he and Alma Marie divorced. Due to his being a patient in an area known for its dry climate and his death at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring, TX from a deadly lung problem, it can assumed that he injured his lungs during World War I.
