John TROY was born in Monananig townland, Gortroe Civil Parish, which is now called Bartlemy Civil Parish. He joined the British Merchant Marines, He eventually settled in Buffalo New York where he met and married the sister-in-law of his best friend John O'KEEFE.

John "Jack" TROY married Honorah "Annie" Burke of Ballyoughtra, County Cork, Ireland in 1922 in Buffalo, New York, where they resided until retirement. John worked for Archer-Daniels as stationary engineer. He retired to Pinellas Park, Florida in 1959.

John "Jack" TROY, and his wife Annie have four living children, and were pre-deceased by their first child, James Randall Troy, who lived 3 days in 1923.

The TROY and O'KEEFE families were life-long friends and are buried together in adjacent plots at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
