WEBSTER SPRINGS — Emmett C. Hamrick, age 93, of 1853 Bergoo Road, Webster Springs, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in Clarksburg Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksburg, WV.
He was born Thursday, August 6, 1914, in Waneta, WV, the son of the late Walter F. Hamrick and Nana (Miller) Hamrick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Mae Hamrick; brothers, Elmer Hamrick and Emory Hamrick; and sisters, Pearl Rogers, Goldie Richardson and Ruby Jane Hamrick.
He is survived by four sons, John Francis Hamrick of Webster Springs, WV, James Paul Hamrick of Webster Springs, WV, Jackson Cromer Hamrick of Davis, WV, and Jerry Cofer Hamrick of Bergoo, WV; one daughter, Jane Lynn (Hamrick) Malone of Bridgeport, WV; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dana Hamrick of Tallahassee, FL.
Mr. Hamrick lived most of his life in Webster County. He was a Methodist by faith and a former member of Methodist Men. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a miner, mechanic and truck driver.
Visitation for Mr. Hamrick will be Saturday, December 15, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Dodd & Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs, WV. A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 16, 2007, at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Meadlowland Cemetery at Bergoo, WV.
