Mrs. Willie Ruth Davenport Mewborn, age 77, of Rome passed away Tuesday January 14, 2014 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mrs. Mewborn was born April 18, 1936, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Henry Hansel Davenport, and Willie Mae Dollar Davenport. She was a member of Gordon Hill Baptist Church, she was retired from Sentex Industries after several years of service. Mrs. Mewborn was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Adam Cason, and a brother Roy Deaton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Friday January 17, 2014, at Cross Pointe Community Church, with Rev. Gary Diggs, Rev. Bill Dowdy, and Rev. Kenneth Boatner, officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday January 16, 2014, at Cross Pointe Community Church, 4949 Rome Hwy, Aragon, Ga. 30104.
Mrs. Mewborn will lie instate one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Pallbearers include, Corey Deaton, Jeff Pope, Travis Cason, Dwayne Cason, Isaac Cason, and Heath Deaton, these gentlemen are asked to meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
