Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Wood Funeral Chapel in Deport. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. She was born April 4, 1952, in Columbus, Miss., to the late Shields and Essie Herron. She married Billy Abbitt June 9, 1982, in Milan, Tenn. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Teresa Galyean; niece/daughter, Marsha Human; two granddaughters, Frannie and Becky Galyean all of Bogata; sister, Annie Lewis of Tennessee; brother, Shields Herron Jr. of Mississippi; two very special friends, Travis and Beverly Maynard of Bogata; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews., OBIT: BOGATA NEWS 9 Sep 2004 born in Columbus MS, child of Sheilds and Essie Herron, married Billy Abbitt on 9 Jun 1982 in Milan TN and he survives, resident of Bogata died at home, burial in Highland Cemetery in Deport TX
