Wife of late Ralph
Daughter of Egisto & Assunta Degliesposti MerliEmma Merli Antinori, 94, of Peckville, died Saturday at VNA Hospice, Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the wife of the late Ralph Antenori, to whom she was married for more than 38 years.

Born in Mondaino, Italy, she emigrated to America 75 years ago at age 19. She was the daughter of the late Egisto Merli and Assunta Degli Esposti Merli. In her youth, she worked in several garment factories in the Peckville area and was a former member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. She was a founding member of the Blakely Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary and for more than 20 years she served as a volunteer kitchen worker at Mid Valley Senior Center, Jessup.

At home, she loved cooking her Italian specialties for family and friends. She could often be found working in her vegetable and flower gardens. In later years, she loved traveling, particularly her return trips to Italy to visit her family members.

She is survived by her children, Frank Antenori and wife, Carol, of Peckville; Sandra Zahner and husband, Jay, of Spring Lake, N.J.; and Ralph Antenori and wife, Michele, of Herrick Center; her aunt, Palmina Sanchini of Pesaro, Italy; her grandchildren, Frank Antenori and wife, Lesley, Tucson, Ariz.; Daniel Antenori and wife. Lynn Jessup; Deborah Gearhart and husband, Anthony, Milford; David Antenori and wife, Carrie, Clarks Summit; Heather and husband, Walter Casper, Crystal Lake; and Brent Crane, Union Dale; 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins in Italy and Switzerland.

Emma was also preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas, Gino, Chester and Joseph Merli; and her grandson, Bryan Crane.
