Eileen Ann Knox (nee Baumann) Age 84, of Brookfield, was born to Eternal Life on November 14, 2005.

She was born December 7, 1920 in Maplewood, WI, the daughter of Alvin and Margaret (nee Faken) Baumann.

On August 19, 1944 she was united in marriage to Clyde Martin Knox (1917-2001) of South Milwaukee in Kellnersville, WI.

She graduated from Marquette University and later received her Masters in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She spent the early years of her career teaching English and French in Mishicot, White Lake and Reedsville and retired in 1977 after 17 years as head librarian at Greenfield High School.

Eileen was a 60-year, very involved member of the American Legion Auxiliary which she served in many elected and appointed offices at unit, district, state and national levels including a year as State President (Wisconsin, 1977-78) and a year as National Vice President (Central Division, 1981-82), most recently as Parliamentarian for the First District of Wisconsin. She was an honorary life member of the Stenz-Griesell-Smith Unit 449 of Brookfield.

Her first love was the Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary's Badger Girls State program which she served for 44 years (1959-2002) as a city counselor, on the Board of Directors and, for 15 years (1980-1994), as Executive Director of the program. She also served 23 years on the staff of the Wisconsin American Legion Badger Boys State (Ripon, WI) and several years on the staff of Girls Nation (Washington, DC).

Eileen was active in local garden clubs, served a term as State President of the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation and was a member of their Wisconsin Judges Council as a certified floral judge. She was a member of Brookfield Woman's Club, Lalumiere League, National Association of Parliamentarians and participated in several bridge clubs.

She is survived by daughter Sandy (Hal) Burdsall (Black Earth), son Tom Knox (Brookfield), granddaughter Melissa Dickson (Black Earth), and brother Ray (Mary Elaine) Baumann (Phoenix, AZ). She was preceded in death by husband Clyde Knox, sister-in-law Virginia Baumann and her parents Alvin and Margaret Baumann.
