Gladys Geraldine Edwards, 95, of Pittsburg, formerly of Erie, KS, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Via Christi Hospital.

She was born December 5, 1918 at Erie, Kansas, the daughter of Charles Byrd and Vida (Webster) Prickett.

She attended Erie grade school and graduated from Erie High School.

On August 4, 1934, she was united in marriage to Cecil E. Edwards at Erie, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1998.

Mrs. Edwards was a housewife.

She had dual membership in the First Christian Church of Erie and after moving to Pittsburg in January 2000 in the First Christian Church of Pittsburg.

Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis Merrell and her husband, JC of Pittsburg, Pat McGuire of Pittsburg, Joyce Swigart and her husband, Keith of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Donna Fields and her husband, Bill of Claremore, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Bill and Gene Edwards; two daughters, Glenna Klenklen and Frances Galvin; three brothers, Steve, Adrian, and Eugene Prickett; a sister, Ellen Prickett; four grandsons, 1 granddaughter and one great great grandson.
