OBITUARY
JOSEPH F. GREEN- died in Seneca February 19, 1902, at the age of 72 years. He was born at Agdensburg, New York, November 21, 1839. He came to Kansas in 1857, and removing elsewhere, returned to Kansas in 1883. He was married to Mrs. Cynthia Lope twenty-one years ago, having been twice married before. He united with the Methodist church here, and was dismissed by letter when he went to Colorado. Though much afflicted for a long time his mind was very placid during his last days. He enjoyed being read to ot of the book of Job, and requested that a text from that book be selected by the preacher for his funeral sermon.
Mrs. Green survives, and has living with her, Mrs. Orton, her mother. She has three daughters living, who are Mrs. Elva Lewis, Mrs. Etta Weyer and Mrs. Lula Ellmur.
The funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church February 21st by the pastor, Rev. J. A. Swaney. The text was Job 14: 10. The attendance was large for a week day service.
