Dorothy Rogers Arnold
Dorothy Rogers Arnold, 90, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2011, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Kingsport, TN, December 23, 1920, the oldest daughter of nine siblings born to Abe H. and Amanda Webb Rogers.
Dorothy was a beautiful lady inside and out with a heart of gold. Her loving, caring, compassionate and giving heart touched many. She loved people and never spoke evil of anyone but always having something good to say of all. Dorothy was a wonderful mom and wife but still found time to be a career woman being an Avon Representative for many, many, many years. Her job brought her much fulfillment and she truly loved it, selling her last Avon order near her 90th birthday.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles H. Arnold in 2010; two sisters, Ethel Phillips and Alice Mae Coffee; five brothers, Lloyd, Willard, Raymond, Charles and Gordon Rogers.
Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Carol L. and Kenneth R. Johnson; one sister and brother in law, Joan and R.C. Simpson; one sister in law, Gladys Rogers; along with several nieces and nephews; her very close friends, her life long friends, Jack and Irene Crawford; and special care giver, Brenda Meridith. She is also survived by her church family where she was a member of Victory Apostolic Church.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 1 pm with Bishop Hagan Webb and Pastor Boyd W. Holder, Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow immediately after in Tri-Cities Memorial Garden, Blountville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Crawford, Art Barber and John Arnold.
