Carol played volleyball while she attended High School and graduated from Ulysses High school in 1962. She then moved to Hutchinson, Kansas and attended Hutchinson Business School.
She married Arnold Ruebke in 1962 and together they had two children a daughter and a son. Carol and Arnold divorced shortly after the birth of their son. She then married Charles R. VanPelt in Feburary of 1978. They were married until her death on January 17, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's.
Mom loved life and love traveling with her husband Charlie whom she loved so dearly. They travelled all across the United States and to several different countries around the world. She loved camping and going to flea markets and antique stores. What she loved most of all was when she finally became a grandma.
She spent all of her waking moments bragging about her new grandson to everybody she knew. I will spend the rest of my life telling him all about his grandma who loved him so much. She was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed especially by her husband, my wonderful stepdad, Charles and me, her daughter Juanita.
