Sylvester C. Jones, died at his residence in Madison Twp. on the 26th of consumption. Mr. Sylvester C. Jones, aged 40 years. The deceased was a kind husband and father, a sociable and obliging neighbor and a true Christian. He bore is sickness with patience and resignation; not a murmur escaped his lips as disease advanced and his bodily strength failed, his faith in Christ and hopes of heaven grew firm and bright and he was anxious to depart. He died in peace and said, "As sets a star at morn, which goes not down behind the darkened west, nor hides obscured among the tempests of the sky, but melts away into the light of heaven."
