Jim Allison went to heaven, the place he preached about and lived his whole life to get to, on Sunday, January 19th. He dedicated his life to serving Jesus as a pastor under the United Methodist Church for 50+ years. He was the first graduate of The University of South Alabama, followed by three years of seminary school at Emory. While speaking at the 40th reunion of USA, he stated his motto as, "Be a student all of your life." He loved reading, preaching, loving others & making them laugh, and of course, never missing out on food & fellowship. We want to thank him for leaving us a legacy built on eternal life through Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his son, Chris Allison. He is survived by his wife, Angela Allison, daughters, Debra Robbins (Bob Robbins), Lori Metzger, two sons, Larue Allison Jr. (LeeAnn Allison), Scott Allison (Linda Allison), sister, Meriem Barlow, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend…. Our mentor… We love and miss you with all of our hearts. Funeral services will be held from Christ United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until the servic hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the: Chris Allison College Fund at Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. (895)858-3511.
