Harmanus L Sr., a comb maker, was listed along with many others on a petition in RI in the 1830's submitted to the US Congress regarding the instability of the currency affecting all tradesmen. It appears to have to do with the issues surrounding the Second Bank of the United States in Philadelphia, which might explain why they were in Philadelphia when Rebecca died.
He remarried twice, but his death and final resting place are not found: Marcia Hunt, married 01/16/1840 in New Jersey, and Maria (Gifford) Bowers, a Matteson descendant, married 08/27/1846 in Killingly, CT.
No children are listed with Harmanus and Maria Gifford (Bowers) in 1850 in Providence, and in 1860 she is found back in her father Sylvester Bowers's home listed with her maiden name.
Harmanus and Rebecca Patt's children appear to have remained in New Jersey and New York.
