Dorothy "Dot" Mae Snyder Berrier, 87, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Canaan United Methodist Church by the Revs. Doug Miller and Lee Strange. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Dot was born March 24, 1926. She was the oldest of five children born to Paul Alexander Snyder and Ree Proctor Snyder. She graduated from Midway High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 30 years of service. She was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church, the Ladies Circle of Christian Service and the Willing Workers Class. She married Norman Edward Berrier on Sept. 28, 1946, and was married almost 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband July 10, 2013; sister Virginia Newson; brother Adrian P. Snyder; and special brother-in-law Alvin Graham.
Surviving are three wonderful sons, Steve Berrier (Jean), Philip Berrier and Chris Berrier (Rhonda), all of Winston-Salem; two special grandsons, Kevin Berrier (Lori) and Travis Berrier (Cathy); two very special loving great-grandsons, Chase Berrier and Rayford Berrier; brother Jack Snyder (Edna) of Lexington; sister Gerlene Graham of Winston-Salem; brother-in-law Jack Newson of Ahoskie; special cousin Irene Hodge of Thomasville; special aunt Mary Snyder of Winston-Salem; very special friend Donnie Blevins; along with many special nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Canaan United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or the charity of the donor's choice.
