While working as a secretary at Morrison Field in West Palm Beach, Butchie met the love of her life, the handsome Major George Dumont. George and Mary married in 1947 and settled in Sebring where George and his partners established the Eight Air Depot at Hendricks Field. Butchie and George raised their six children in Sebring in a home filled with laughter and love. Butchie and her family shared a lifetime of aviation which included numerous memorable trips in family airplanes to destinations around the US and Canada.
