GOSHEN - Wanda A. Elliott Alwine, 96, passed away Friday morning at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
She was born in LaGrange County Sept. 6, 1917, to John Franklin and Florence (Stout) Bull.
Mrs. Alwine is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane (Michael) Crabille and Victoria "Vicki" (Ed) Diamond, both of Goshen; two sons, Robert (Pam) Elliott and Dennis Lee (Esther) Alwine, both of Goshen; 11 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Herman R. Elliott and James Lloyd Alwine; daughter, Constance Kay Boldgett; son, Richard Elliott; and three sisters, Alice Bowser, Berdena McCahale and Wanetah Sharp.
A Goshen resident since the age of 16, Mrs. Alwine worked at the Jack & Jill Shoppe, Goshen and then in the children's department of Kline's, Goshen, until retiring in 1982.
She was a member of LifePoint Church, Goshen. A very friendly person, she never knew a stranger and welcomed all with open arms.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
There will be one hour of calling prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday at LifePoint Church of God, Goshen. The Rev. Troy Scott will officiate.
Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society or LifePoint Church.
