Raymond Dwayne Snyder, 81, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Wednesday evening, January 15, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Raymond was born November 10, 1932 in rural Green Castle, Missouri to Dean and Norma (Pifer) Snyder.
He was a lifelong resident of the Green Castle area.
On November 13, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri he married Ival Baskett and she preceded him in death on June 19, 1992.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Neva Kay Powell and one in infancy.
He is survived by one daughter, Judy and husband Craig Bakke of Bucklin, Missouri; three sons, Junior Snyder, Jerry and wife Teri Snyder, and James Snyder all of Green Castle; five grandchildren, Ryan Bakke, Rachel Holmberg, Jade Snyder, Colton Snyder and Thane Snyder; six great grandchildren, Alayna, Ashlyn & Ajay Bakke, Bennett, Walker and Harper Holmberg; one sister; Phyllis and husband Earl Turner of Queen City, Missouri; two brothers, Roy Snyder of Green Castle and Ronnie and wife Sharon Snyder of Kirksville; and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond farmed all of his adult life. For 27 years he also drove a milk truck. Later in life he worked for the Green City and Lamoni, Iowa sale barns. Raymond loved watching baseball. He enjoyed horses, team roping and Chevy Trucks. He most cherished the time spent with his family.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2013, at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Rev. Alan Coonfield officiated.
Pallbearers were: Robert Clawson, Richard Hall, Larry Jackson, Richie Snyder, Stanley Elsworth, Jim Moots, and Mark Snyder. Honorary Pallbearers were Colton Snyder and Thane Snyder.
Burial followed at the Green Castle Cemetery.
