He was born July 21, 1949 in Memphis, Tenn. He grew up in the Dancyville Community. He was a member of the Dancyville Methodist Church. Wayne loved working with his hands and building things. He worked for his dad at Beard Brothers Construction until joining the army. He retired from service after serving in Desert Storm, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, France and Germany. After retirement, he worked for Titan/L4 as a contractor overseas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, David and Lola Beard; and a daughter, Debbie Beard Nelson.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Omega Beard of Lawton, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Cordero (Chris) of Ackokeek, Md., and Jennifer Cordero (David) of Memphis; two grandchildren, Charlie Cordero and Seth Nelson; a sister, Anita Welch of El Dorado; two nieces, Tracye Howse Summerville and Cheri Howse McDougald (Rusty) of El Dorado; four grand-nephews, Bobby Jones, Blake Jones, Bradley Summerville and Benjamin Summerville.
Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Whinery Huddleston Funeral Home in Lawton. Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
