Grandpa loved to fish and hunt. He built a boat for salmon fishing and put it to good use.

Charles William Hunt, 66, native of Spencer, Iowa, who made his home at Manteca, passed away June 5 in a Tracy hospital following a long illness.

Hunt's home was in Kingsburg from 1903 to 1916 when his family moved to Badger where he remained until 1945.

From 1943 to 1945 he ranched near Orosi when he moved to Manteca where he has lived since, retiring from ranching only recently.

At the time of his demise, Hunt was serving as president of the Walthall Reclamation District near Manteca. The former rancher is survived by his wife Lucille N. Hunt of Manteca.
