Oldest child to Joe and Ruby Franklin, and only son.
Having three sisters, Brenda, (Vicki-deceased) and Regina.

Duane was a remarkable young man. Having diabetes he still conquered many tribulations due to his disease in life.
He lost his eye sight completely, but this had not stopped him from becoming an asset to this life. He worked for the Government as a case worker, inspite of the fact he was totally blind, with a seeing eye dog as his companion until his death. With modern techknowlege he was able to give himself his own insullian shots and still being a blind man.

Duane became ill with heart problems and was never the same. He was married twice, once as a very young man and again in his thirty's, til the marriage dissolved in divorce.
Duane passed away quietly from heart problems.
He was cremated and brought to Harris Creek Cemetary and buried in the family plots. His sister Vicki joined him in 2004.

There is quit a story about this Franklin family. Years ago, Duane, Brenda, and Vicki were the children of Jimmy and Ruby Franklin. Jimmy a truck driver was killed while in his eight-teen wheeler truck, and left behind his widow Ruby and three small children. Ruby a small, sweet attractive young woman met a man by the name of Joe Franklin. They married and together had one daughter Regina Franklin.

Joe helped his loving wife raise four small children. And because Joe's and Jimmy's last names were identical, not many ever knew anything different that his three step children were not biologically his.

Today Ruby and Joe Franklin are still man and wife and together they have raised four children, and sadly have laid to rest two of them, plus a grandchild. A strong Mother and Father, a strong love and bond.

Duane and Vicki Franklin lay next to each other in the Franklin Family plots, brother and sister forever and always. Rest in peace sweethearts.
