Raymond E. Patterson,83,of 731 Beeson Dr.,Winchester died at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 26,2001 at Randolph Nursing Home,Winchester.

He was born May 12,1918,in Winchester to the late George and Hazel (Coryell) Patterson. A 1937 graduate of Winchester High School. Patterson was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He was a US Army veteran,serving as a staff sergeant in WW II. He was the owner of Patterson Brothers Salvage Winchester. Patterson was a member of the Church of the Nazarene,Winchester and a 50-year member of its choir. He was a former member of the y's Owls, Winchester and the Men's Prayer Breakfast,Winchester.

Survivors include one brother,John (wife Sharon) Patterson of Eaton;three sisters Beulah Rittenhouse of Winchester, Virginia Anderson of DeWitt,Mich.,and Lois Lewis of Jeffersonville;and several nieces and nephews.

He was precede in death by four brothers,Harry Patterson, James Patterson,Robert Patterson and Arthur Patterson;and one sister,Margaret Paterson.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester with Rev. Howard Becker officiating. Burial is at Bearcreek Cemetery, Winchester.

Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene with envelopes available at the funeral home.
