Mrs Clara Ypma (nee DeVries), aged 72, passed away Tuesday morning at Pine Rest Sanitarium. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Gertrude Penninga of Grand Rapids, Mrs Winifred Hempel of Holland; eight sons, Peter DeVries of Phoenix Ariz, Jack DeVries of Denver Colo, John, Clarence, Henry and Gerrit DeVries all of Grand Rapids; Simon and Richard DeVries, both of Alemeda, Calif; two stepdaughters, Mrs Ida VanderVeen of Grand Rapids, Mrs Jennie Ledeboer of Princeburg, Minn; 30 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Grandville Avenue Christian Reformed Church. The relatives will meet at the church at 1:30. Interment Wyoming Township Cemetery. Mrs Ypma reposes at the Kuiper Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening.
