Rites Are Conducted For Leonard Smith
Funeral services for Leonard E. Smith, 82, who died Thursday, Aug. 28,
at St. Joseph's hospital in Centerville, were conducted Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Baptist
church in Seymour with the Rev. W. M. Cleeton officiating.
He is survived by three children, James M. Smith of Racine, Wisc.,
Mrs. G. H. Seward of Harvard and Mrs. Louise McCully of Kansas City, Mo.,
in addition to grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Smith, who had farmed until his retirement in 1947, was a member
of the Baptist church and was active in the Masonic lodge. He had been a member
of the order since 1915.
Since the death of his wife, the former Louisa Belle Trogdon, in 1948,
he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Seward, in Harvard.
Burial was in Southlawn cemetery.
