Marilyn E. Bartz 66 of Kenneth Road passed away on January 23, 2014 at Mt. Saint Vincent Care Center in Holyoke.
Born in Holyoke, she is the daughter of the late Harold and Erline (DeCelle) Bartz.
Marilyn retired in 2010 after 40+ years as a clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing, but remained active volunteering for Lathrop Home, Easthampton Council on Aging, and the American Cancer Society. She received her nursing degree and graduated valedictorian from the former Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing. She also received a B.S. in Nursing from American International College and a Masters from Boston University.
Marilyn leaves her sister Kristine Furkey of Easthampton, her niece Allison Furkey of Amherst and her best friend Merilyn Thomas of Westfield.
Calling hours are Saturday, February 1, from 10:00 -11:30 AM at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, 7 Pleasant Street, Easthampton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.
